Each year band members are selected to receive a scholarship based on the outstanding contributions they have made to the music program or to assist in the recruiting of talented perspective students. This scholarship fund was set up so that each year enough money is earned on the interest of this fund to support scholarships that are $150 per year. As of 4/30/98, there was $605 remaining as cash, and $18,280 in the investment pool. Last year's recipients are highlighted below.
Steve Smyth. Steve is a senior Music Education major. Steve has been co-captain of the ISU Drumline, Pep Band Administrative Assistant, and section leader of the ISU Wind Ensemble. Jodie Bell. Jodie was a right guide in the trumpet section of the Cyclone Marching Band and a member of the Men's Pep Band. She is a senior in Child and Family Services. Jodie's infectious enthusiam made her one of the leaders of the entire band.
