Just Like Old VEISHEA

A hearty band of 55 Alumni Band members
braved the harsh 70 degree weather on the 2003 VEISHEA parade
float. Mild sunburns were earned by the few who bared their
winter legs to a brutal April sun. The love of Alumni Band can
overcome even the most challenging of weather conditions.
Naturally, the year that the float was NOT
#74 of 74 in the parade was the year nobody cared about
waiting for their turn. Some in the band suspect there is an
inverse relationship to the float's position and the quality
of the weather on VEISHEA. Here's hoping the VEISHEA
organizers noticed the trend, also.
Many thanks to Joe Sabers of Ames for the
use of the hayrack and Moffitt Ford in Boone for the spiffy
truck to pull it with. Ben Ihde was efficient as always in the
organizing of the float.

The Alumni Band float passes Parks Library.

The trombone section enjoys the shirt-sleeve
weather.
